Bangkok, where cultures have blended and tussled for centuries is the place where Halfworld’s new chapter resurfaces. Here the immortals rise again from their timeless realm to mingle with the ‘living’.
The way ancient Chinese culture is embedded in the fabric of contemporary Thai identity. Bangkok was born in 1782 B.C., where the Thai and Chinese traded and became culturally entwined.
Halfworld is set over two centuries. The ‘Immortals’, ‘Demons’, ‘Half Bread’s’ hid in the Bangkok of the 1700’s. Soi Pi (Ghost Alley) is a Chino-Thai world of wood, silk and the red light of fire. The previous Peesai (Demon) lived here.
The ‘new’ Peesaj, now lurks in the abandoned Industrial outskirts of 1970’s Bangkok; the economic collapse, overgrown concrete, steel and a green fluorescence lights his new Citadel.
In the penthouses and hovels of today’s capitalist metropolis millions bustle to work and live. Atop of glittering sky scrapers, where murky business meets murky law the rulers deal out destinies.
